VADR Releases “Away” Featuring Oshea Davaun and City Sun [Listen]

Last Friday, May 7, Detroit-based producer VADR dropped his latest single. “Away” is a collaboration with fellow Detroit artist Oshea Davaun and City Sun, and combines the producers love for hip-hop and new trap influence.

VADR is an up-and-coming producer/DJ that blends hip-hop roots with his love of intricate and gritty bass. Born Addison Brown, VADR is a Texas native who has spent the last few years growing within the city of Detroit. His influence and experimental style of production blend the lines between hip-hop and bass music, which has earned the attention and bookings with the likes of RL Grime, Zeds Dead, Troyboi and more.

City Sun is the solo endeavor of Devin Vargo, a multi-instrumentalist songwriter, while Oseah Davaun is a self-title project originating out of Detroit.

“Away” blends genres and sound design in a captivating and intricate way. The track opens with flowing synths, which give way for powerful vocal hooks and heavy hip-hop verses. Listeners are then introduced to VADR’s staggering bass lines, cascading arps, and hard-hitting trap percussion. Behind lyrics of love’s hypnotic spell, “Away” meshes a menagerie of genres to captivate and provide a hard hitting anthem for fans.

“Love’s spell is a potion we so easily drink from, become entangled within, and turned around from ourselves,” said VADR. “‘Away’ is written through the lens of the personally lost, but the physically connected.”
