Excision, Illenium, Fisher & More Help Usher Normalcy Back into Las Vegas [News]

It’s been over a year, and felt even longer, since people could freely travel across the country with friends and loved ones. Uniting with them at large-scale events was even further out of the question, but this past weekend signaled that things might be returning to ‘normal.’ For Las Vegas, this means the live events industry and business at-large are back!

A week before the masses crowd in for Conor McGregor’s trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier on July 10, Vegas’ Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, Allegiant Stadium & world-class clubs hosted some of music’s brightest acts. Not only did these events proceed unaffected by 2020’s theme of postponements and cancellations, but pitched full sell outs in epic fashion to provide optimism for the rest of this year.

Excision hosted a two-night gathering at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) Friday and Saturday (July 2-3), a stint presented by RVLTN Events. The producer’s immersive audiovisual experience, relentless touring and various festivals have helped make him one of the forefront producers and leaders in dubstep. For his first Vegas appearance since February, the producer threw down alongside Sullivan King, Marauda, ATLiens, Dion Dimmer, Level Up, and more.

An ultimate entertainment destination, the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center is a 120,000-sq. foot multipurpose event space. The venue features a state-of-the-art stage design, world-class sound and lighting, and accommodated over 10,000 guests each night.

Across town, Illenium took the honor of hosting the first capacity event at Allegiant Stadium, the new home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. Last year’s inaugural Raiders season held no more than 250 fans at any home game. For his first appearance in Las Vegas in over a year, the producer sold 65k+ tickets in advance to his epic “Trilogy” set—a 4-hour performance of his first three albums (Ashes, Awake, Ascend) plus a teaser of his upcoming LP, Fallen Embers. He followed that up with a 4th of July close out set at Omnia Nightclub.

Across town, music fans who werent able to get into sold out marquees were provided with the best-of-the-best at every turn. Comedian Dave Chapelle hosted two-nights at the MGM Garden Arena, while hip-hop fans could have seen Meg Thee Stallion or the Migos, who hot off the release of Culture 3.

Whether you were at any of these shows, Miley Cyrus’ surprise performance at Resorts World or simply splashing about at Fisher’s debut residence gig at the Marquee, a certain theme was present throughout. Contagious enthusiasm and a positive atmosphere derived from live music experiences. Las Vegas is certainly back, and for music lovers especially, it’s a now-open destination to meet your hearts desire.
