House Producer Henry Was Credited for Beat on Rapper Isaiah Rashad’s New Single, “Headshots”
Every now and then, the production credits catch you by surprise. Amongst the highlights of new music Friday, producers Henry Was, Hollywood Cole, and Rory Behr picked up an acclaimed nod with production credits on Isaiah Rashad’s new single, “Headshots.”
Isaiah Rashad is a Chattanooga, TN-born rapper and member of famed rap label, Top Dawg Ent.. The group is home to artists such as Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Schoolboy Q. He broke out behind widespread acclaim on his first EP, Cilvia Demo, and would go on to make the XXL freshman class in 2014. His album, The Sun’s Tirade, peaked at 17 on the Billboard 200 in 2017. He’s amidst the roll out of his forthcoming album, The House is Burning.
Henry Was is a prominent member of Justin Jay’s Fantastic Voyage label. He plays drums for both the FV live band and Thumpasaurus, and recently has become known for his production chops as well. He has several house releases on the FV label, delivering a melodic lo-fi gem on his latest single, “Pink Cadillac.”
