MP3 SELECTS: Playlists & New Music from Mary Droppinz, Jauz, Disclosure & More
In the modern era, distribution services push out over 60,000 new tracks every single day. How do you cut through all the noise, select what to listen to, and boost your playlist game? Introducing MP3 SELECTS, our weekly rundown of new music releases and our updated playlists on Spotify. Check out this week’s round up below:
Mary Droppinz – “Ignite”
Eclectic producer and tastemaker Mary Droppinz has made her Altered States return with her latest release, “Ignite.” The release comes full circle as the producer got special permission from label owner Zeds Dead and collaborator Subtronics to create an original working of their hit track, “Gassed Up.” Vocals from Flowdan are still layered on top as she sprinkles heavy-hitting one-shots, dramatic buildups, and electro-powered synths. Through this process, the producer showcases her significant talent in bridging the communities of house, techno, and bass while throwing in underground UK bass into the mix.
Fans can see Mary Droppinz “ignite” the dancefloor this summer season with a series of tour dates and festival appearances, including Brooklyn’s Elsewhere on August 5th and Electric Zoo on September 2nd.

Jauz – “Don’t Leave Me Now”
Following the success of his recent single “Lights Go Out,” Jauz returns with his highly anticipated eight-track album, Rise Of The Wise. The album marks the producer’s first full-length release in five years, continuing the story of The Wise and The Wicked. The album showcases the producer’s primed sound production over the past several years as he transitions between gritty tech house and more melodic breaks. “Don’t Leave Me” is a sure staple on the album, pulsating up to momentous drops full of warping bass and surging synths.
Disclosure – “Sun Showers”
Any week is a good week (or year for that matter) when Disclosure drops a new album. And let’s just say: we haven’t been able to stop listening. The duo’s fourth album Alchemy is nothing short of perfect club-focused deep house, making anyone who listens to it fall in love with the sweltering energy of the dancefloor. Having just departed from Capitol Records, Disclosure dropped the 11-track collection independently, allowing the duo to ride the tide of their new chapter. Surprisingly, the album doesn’t feature any guests or collaborations, allowing more breathing room for the duo to hone in on their own sound and legacy within the electronic music community. After listening through several times, we’ve decided that “Sun Showers” deserves a complimenting highlight as it oversees pulsating rhythms and ethereal, sparkling production work, setting the scene for a sunny sonic daydream.
