The Best Stage Every Day of Suwannee Hulaween 2022
With the fall colors permeating and temperatures dropping, it is near time for Floridians and festival-goers to gather once again for one of the most treasured events in the South, Suwannee Hulaween.
2022’s edition dazzles behind a dance-friendly lineup that includes Liquid Stranger, Fisher, Gigantic Nghtmre, Louis the Child, and so many more, which resulted in the festival selling out yet again this past week.
With ticket sales wrapped up, organizers have finally shared the day lineups — so MP3 MAG decided to break down our favorite stage lineups each day.
Here’s a list of which stage you need to check out every day of Hulaween 2022:
THURSDAY: Spirit Lake
Lineup: Tape B, Zingara, Canabliss, Ravenscoon, Tripp St., Jantsen, Liquid Stranger
Since his first appearance at Hulaween in 2017, at the now defunct Patch Stage, Liquid Stranger has gone from underground bass music veteran to bonafide superstar. The Swedish producer has grown his WAKAAN label into a nationwide community, hosted two festivals, and regularly tours the country behind a large cast of growing stars in their own right. For his long-awaited return, Liquid Stranger is hosting a WAKAAN takeover at the cultural performance haven, Spirit Lake.
Tagging along for their Suwanee debuts are Tape B, Zingara, Tripp St., Jantsen, Ravenscoon, and Canabliss. Expect things to get weird late night in the woods.
FRIDAY: The Amphitheater
Lineup: A Hundred Drums, MZG, OPIUO, Manic Focus, CloZee
Perhaps the biggest attraction at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music River Park, The Amphitheater stage is one of the best natural stage setups in the country. Sunken into the earth, below a labyrinth of mossy oaks that crowd the sky, the Amp stage often hosts the most immersive and coveted sets of Hula each year.
On Friday, things are kicked off with promising Deadbeats act, A Hundred Drums, followed by longtime Hula vets MZG, OPIUO, and the Manic Focus live band featuring Phyphr. Closing things out this year will be CloZee, who’s graduated from closing Spirit Lake in 2018 to this ceremonious position. This stretch should offer some of the most inspired, diverse takes on electronic music throughout the weekend.
SATURDAY: The Hallow
Lineup: Artikal Sound System, Lawrence, The Polish Ambassador, Lettuce, J.I.D
The Hallow stage, situated on the backside of the Meadow main stage area, debuted in 2021 with a Deadbeats takeover as well as sets from Jungle and Khruangbin. Naturally, organizers had to up the ante this year.
Making his debut in Suwannee, rapper J.I.D. provides a poignant star power. While the absence of past Hula hip-hop like Action Bronson and Torey Lanez left fans disappointed, J.I.D. is easily one of the most coveted rappers today and should make an emphatic impression. Joining him on the stage are Suwannee favorites, Lettuce, and The Polish Ambassador.
SUNDAY: Spirit Lake
Lineup: Porky, Marbs, Lee Reynolds, Mikey Lion, DH Family B2B
Assuming you’ve caught your fair share of Cheese sets by this point of the weekend, it’s safe to return to Spirit Lake once again for the one-of-a-kind dance party that is Desert Hearts. After recently celebrating a decade as an outfit with their own massive festival in SoCal, Mikey Lion, Marbs, Lee Reynolds and Porky reunite to send festival goers out with a bang. This stretch offers individual sets from each, as well as a family B2B set.
