The Untz Turns Up the Volume on Underground Artists, Culture [Fest Feature]
Bass music has always glorified the ‘underground’ because that’s what powers the machine. The next-up artists and biggest, most innovative sound help push forward the genre, add notoriety and more widespread acclaim for a growing genre. The Untz Festival, hosted in Brows Valley, California, is one of the foremost festivals when it comes to living up to these values.
Since 2016, it’s consistently brought the top underground artists, labels and diehards together for a week of some of the most bass-forward sounds in the country. It brings in international talent to harbor new sounds, and highlights the top acts, labels and collectives from around the country. Because of the far-reaching corners that these genres originate, there’s tons of opportunity to discover new styles and one-of-a-kind collaborations. The Untz festival provides all that and more.
Where it Began
The Untz Festival’s first event was housed in Mariposa, California. Headlining the event was Phutureprimitive, The Werks, and Desert Dwellers. The vent hosted dubstep OGs like Mr. Bill and Kaminada, while conspicuously booking an undercard that featured soon-to-be superstars ILLENIUM, Charlesthefirst, and Said the Sky. The festival has previously booked other big name notables such as Liquid Stranger, EPROM, CASPA and Boogie T.
