MP3 PREP: When We Were Young sells out day 1 with massive lineup

Everybody’s favorite nostalgia fest has become a mainstay in Las Vegas. When We Were Young does it again, selling out day one in record time. This is not to say that you don’t still have a chance at being a part of the magic. It has become common for a day 2 to be added to their schedule once there is enough demand. 2025 is likely to be no different with a waiting list already in place for those who missed out on pre-sales for day 1.

Just a short time after wrapping up their 2024 edition, they are back at it with a line up that is not to be missed. This festival has become known for reuniting bands and 2025 will be no different. Panic At The Disco is back and playing A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out in its entirety and more. Also headlining, Blink-182 is back and bigger than ever, playing all the hits from Enema of the State,  Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, and their self-titled album.

When We Were Young has always been known as a Pop-Punk and Emo music festival. This year there is likely to be a stage dedicated to the heavier side of things. Metal bands like Kublai Khan tx, Knocked Loose, Asking Alexandria, and We Came As Romans have been invited to play in 2025.

Other big acts to be excited about during When We Were Young 2025 are none other than, Avril Lavigne, The Offspring, Weezer, All Time Low, Yellowcard, Simple Plan and Taking Back Sunday

Now let’s jump into 3 tips for When We Were Young we have learned after attending multiple years.

Stay on the strip and walk to When We Were Young

Staying on the strip has its own wow factor of course. But during When We Were Young the strip is transformed into a black parade for an entire weekend. Imagine being surrounded by thousands upon thousands of your favorite people everywhere you go. At every restaurant and bar you feel like you’re at part of the show. There is no parking directly at the venue so to be able to walk or take the vegas monorail comes in clutch for making your trip easy. Additionally if the main event wasn’t enough of a party for you, every year there are smaller, more intimate shows conveniently located on the strip. These shows usually have some large name acts playing them.

Show up early and beat the lines

When We Were Young sees 80,000 attendees per day annually. With these massive numbers it is nearly impossible to not have lines when entering the festival grounds. If you show up early it is not hard to beat the lines and get into the festival in a timely manner. An added bonus of showing up early is more bang for your buck. You will have the entire day ahead of you to enjoy as much music as possible.

Make a schedule to maximize your time at When We Were Young

Without a doubt with this many amazing acts there is going to be some overlap on the line up. This happens every year and there’s not much you can do about it. But there are a few things you can do to see every band you want to see. Tip one: Go both days. More time at the event means you have more time to switch up your schedule. Tip two: When the schedule is released make your own personal schedule in the notes app on your phone. This way you will know about the overlap before getting to the festival and can plan accordingly. Tip three: Don’t stick to your schedule too strictly. Sometimes you can discover a new favorite band or meet a new special person and it’s better to just roll with it.
