Champagne Drip Features New Downtempo Sound in ‘Comedown’ EP
For those who attended WAKAAN Music Festival this year got the chance to witness a new era of Champagne Drip. Unleashing a completely different sound than previously heard, Champagne Drip debuted his first “comedown” set in the early morning hours to close out each day of the festival.
Featuring melodic downtempo tunes, this set provided a soothing and calm environment as the sun rose, creating the perfect atmosphere to end the long nights of incredible music. Continuing on this journey, Champagne Drip unveils his full-length ambient EP entitled Comedown.
As a complete juxtaposition to his most recent Time Warp EP, all seven tracks on this new EP encompass completely new uncharted territory to the Champagne Drip project with his first-ever SSKWAN release. Written in the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic, this EP’s sound expresses the lack of dancefloor melodies due to his inability to perform live shows around the country.
Each of these tracks provides a unique downtempo soundscape, navigating the different thought processes and sound designs that were incorporated throughout his “comedown” set. The first track alone is almost nine minutes long, providing the perfect atmosphere to achieve a meditative state, practice breathwork, or simply enter a state of inner peace.
Though this is an entirely new and different sound for Champagne Drip than listeners are used to, the change of pace and of tempo provides a whole different look into this artist’s work and creative mind.
