Festival Artist Spotlights: Artists You Don’t Want to Miss in 2023 [Vol. I]

Every year, the question of “which festival(s) to go to?” becomes more difficult to answer with the star-studded rosters that feel impossible to choose from. Artists continue to progress their talents, while newcomers get the opportunity to showcase theirs. Luckily, we provide a comprehensive guide on who you should keep your eyes on this festival season.

Check out our 10 Artists You Don’t Want to Miss This Festival Season:

Yheti

Who is Yheti?

Yheti needs no introduction at this point in his career. His success stems from his innate ability to produce eccentric, low-end experimental bass. Fans continue to be captivated by his use of unpredictable rhythm, erratic percussion, and mind-numbing basslines. If there’s any artist that proves chaos in sound can be functional, it’s him.

Where is Yheti playing this Summer?

  • The Untz – 5/12/2023 – 5/14/2023 (Browns Valley, California)
  • Secret Dreams – 8/17/2023 – 8/19/2023 (Thornville, Ohio)

Zingara

Who is Zingara?

Zingara is a prime example of an artist who initially gained notoriety through TikTok. Once EDM enthusiasts caught wind of her hypnotic dubstep sound, it has been full speed ahead for the budding Baltimore producer. Last year, Zingara won a slot for Bass Canyon and Lost Lands through Excision’s Bass Music Initiative contest. Additionally, she went back-to-back with Austeria for her first Red Rocks appearance in support of Cyclops Rocks II. With some remarkable bookings already under her belt, it looks as if Zingara is showing no signs of slowing down in the coming year.

Where is Zingara playing this Summer?

  • Backwoods at Mulberry Mountain – 4/20/2023 – 4/23/2023 (Ozark, AR)
  • UBBI DUBBI – 4/22/2023 – 4/23/2023 (FT Worth, TX)

  • 5/19/2023 (Tampa, FL) – TK Lounge
  • 5/20/2023 (Tampa,FL) – TK Lounge

Why is Zingara an Artist You Don’t Want to Miss?

Dubstep is a fiercely competitive genre, but Zingara has found a way to make herself stand out in such a saturated market. Playful vocal clips are found throughout some of her singles, like the newest collab with Austeria, “WWYB3” (Wait What’s Your Big 3?). The track pokes and prods at the astrology movement while still staying true to the classic grittiness that Zingara is known for. Of course, this is all in good fun.

A surprising but welcomed collaboration, “Sacrifice,” with Kx5 (Kaskade and Deadmau5) is just one of many reasons to seek out a SOFI TUKKER event. The combination of Sophie’s airy lyrics mixed with veteran big-room house is simply seductive. SOFI TUKKER’s latest tune is a feature on LP Giobbi‘s “If Love is a Skill.” The two artists have a tantalizing energy that suits one another in a harmonious fashion. New music aside, SOFI TUKKER is certainly capable of keeping an enthusiastic crowd on their toes.

Ternion Sound

Who is Ternion Sound?

The 140 BPM realm is an acquired taste for some, but for others, it’s a lifestyle. Infrasound Music Festival encapsulates the finest tastemakers in the low-end landscape. It also just so happens to be where Apparition, Johnny Foreplay, and Nostalgia joined forces to become Ternion Sound. Their infectious stage presence led to a raucous project defined by distinct bass lines and sound system culture.

Why is Ternion Sound an Artist You Don’t Want to Miss?

There’s something exciting about artists who incorporate minimalism into their sets. In the modern EDM age, producers take full advantage of production technology to create otherworldly experiences that fascinate even veteran concert-goers. However, sometimes all of that is unnecessary. Ternion Sound leans into their skillset with risky doubles and quick transitions to keep the crowd guessing. In a time where stimulating screens and lights are plentiful, there is an advantage to just letting yourself feel the moment. We’d bet money on you doing just that during one of the many upcoming Ternion Sound sets.
