General Moss, Ellie Gonsalves — “I’m Awake”

“I’m Awake” is, in a way, a healthy spin on Lady Gaga’s classic, viral moment where she details a normal day in her chaotic, party-centric life: “No sleep, bus, club, another club, nother club, plane, next place…” Instead, “I’m Awake” focuses on a healthier lifestyle with a short monologue to introduce the song: “Rise with the sun, I’m awake. Time to conquer motherfuckers. Out the door, palates bound, workout done, I’ve got this round. Shower, change, shoot today. When all work’s done, it’s time to play. In the band, dreams are coming true. I’m coming home to you.”

The silly, motivational snippet eventually spirals into a synth-loaded club house banger that represents the fun-loving nature of dancefloor antics and early mornings at the club with friends. It’s fun, it’s lighthearted, and it’s definitely catchy.

WonkyWilla — “Scream From Venus”

“Scream From Venus,” the second track on WonkyWilla’s debut EP, “Wonksgiving” is like an oven-baked turkey: the timeless classic on everyone’s plate, even if they skip out on the green bean casserole. It’s a traditional dubstep tune that embraces WonkyWilla’s heaviest sound design to date, and a tasty explosion of screeching dubstep synths, pounding drums, and relentless energy.

Axel Thesleff, ATYYA — “Bad Karma (ATYYA Remix)”

ATYYA’s remix of Alex Thesleff’s classic “Bad Karma” dives into the meditative world of global bass music, chopping up the original vocals, layered with deep, mysterious synths that eventually evolve into a dance-pop climax. This will be ATYYA’s final remix of 2024, and it is the soft conclusion of ATYYA’s meditative bass journey before he dives into the world of UK bass, UK garage, and modern dubstep.
