Disclosure, Hamdi — “She’s Gone, Dance On (Hamdi Remix)”

Disclosure’s viral hit, “She’s Gone, Dance On,” officially received the remix treatment from UK bass star Hamdi, but the flip takes a surprising approach that shies away from Hamdi’s signature sound, instead leaning into uptempo break beat style production.

For long time fans of Hamdi, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, as much of his older material is focused on UKG, house and techno music. And, while Hamdi’s remix of “She’s Gone, Dance On,” is a high speed race to the finish line, the energy is unmatched. This one pairs well with a 24 oz Red Bull and a caffeine patch.

Chase & Status, Stormzy — “BACKBONE”

Beloved drum and bass aficionados, Chase & Status, have released their biggest collaboration yet. “BACKBONE” with UK hip hop and grime legend Stormzy, is the bounciest tune we’ve heard all summer. It makes you wonder why these two musical legends made us wait so long for a collaboration.

Chase & Status have been around for over 20 years, but their resurgence in recent years represents a rise in global interest in drum and bass music, especially in the US. The undeniable energy that exists from start to finish on “BACKBONE” is exactly why. Combining grimy, high-octane verses from Stormzy with the filthy drum & bass sound design, “BACKBONE” is a wild ride with unrelenting energy.

Zedd, Remi Wolf — “Lucky”

A Zedd and Remi Wolf collaboration wasn’t on our bingo card for 2024, but “Lucky” makes perfect sense. It’s a dance-pop track that explores disco roots, funky basslines, and charismatic synth lines. The final result is a radio-ready, melody-focused dance anthem that balances traditional pop music motifs with a healthy dose of the 80s.

“Lucky” is a tack that fits perfectly in a Lifetime Fitness workout playlist, and we’ll definitely be hearing this one in grocery stores across the country the rest of this year. Thankfully, it’s not as simple and straightforward as many dance pop tunes that have dominated the radio in recent years, and we’re thankful for that.

“Moviemento” is a fun, light-hearted Latin club banger, complete with shakers, cowbell percussion, and sexy spoken word passages that follow the fun-loving nature of Miami’s music culture to a tee. As the title suggests, “Moviemiento” will definitely get you moving.
