MP3 TAKES: Zeds Dead Takes San Francisco on a Journey
Zeds Dead is the epitome of the golden era of dubstep spilling over into the modern era. this duo show no signs of slowing down any time soon, and they continue to push boundaries by creating works of art with highly notable acts like Griz and Subtronics.
Recently Zeds Dead had a highly successful three-day run in the San Francisco bay area. Day one was like going back in time to when you heard your first wub over a decade ago. Thursday night’s throwback set was not only full of all those classic Zeds Dead everyone wanted to hear, but they also surprised us with some OG classics you may have forgotten about like Mr. Postman.
Every day, the production stepped up. Thursday was like a stripped back vision of their stage, which was fitting for the throwback set. Friday the duo began to ramp up production a bit and also play some more of their more modern songs.
Saturday was a full stage production, but it didn’t give the vibe of “look how many lasers we can fit in here.” Instead, it felt classy and intentional. The people running the lights and lasers truly knew what they were doing and used the equipment they had to their full potential. You could hear the crowd cheer in awe whenever the lighting team would sync up with the emotion of a song just right.
Zeds Dead is getting ready to set out on a big tour dubbed Return To The Spectrum Of International Happiness. Now is your chance to see a couple of the OGs in the scene. Don’t miss out.
