R&B and Soul Meet Electronica as Night Tales Release Debut Album ‘Proof’

Almost a decade of consistency, diligence, and a love for music has landed Night Tales in the spotlight for being one of the fastest-growing artists in the United States. Validating that electronic music and urban culture can be combined to embody people of color in the scene, the Los-Angeles based duo released their debut album Proof via Ultra Records, featuring 11 atmospheric tracks.

Both Aaron Bannie and Kamaliza Salamba are rooted in a rich history of spinning vinyl, infusing R&B with electronic, as well as, singing and songwriting soulful vocals within their projects. After releasing “Thinking About You” as a single earlier in 2022, Night Tales’ aura and connection shine through each storytelling track on Proof by providing high-spirited lyricism and a steady groove that compels listeners into an emotional odyssey.

Salamba’s written vocals and melodies merged with Bannie’s trigger pads and actual voice stimulate their sound, as well as their feelings. The heartfelt track “Phoenix” presents upbeat elements with heavy synths driven by elevating chords and energetic tempos. “Lovesong” features spine-tingling vocals and seamlessly blended riffs, alongside fluttering melodious sounds that make the track all the more electrifying.

Ending their summer with performances at Electric Forest and Breakaway Festival, the two are continuing their support for Proof by touring in cities from coast to coast, including San Francisco, Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto, Brooklyn, Denver, Chicago, Portland, and Seattle.
