Jade Cicada Returns With New Single, “Frame Shift”and Announces ‘Break The Hold’ Tour

Acclaimed electronic music producer Jade Cicada is closing out his biggest year yet with the release of his first original single in nearly two years. The new track “Frame Shift”,  marks a bold new chapter in his career, defined by a cinematic approach to sound design and presentation.

Known for merging intricate rhythms and jazz-inspired harmonies, Jade Cicada’s latest track reflects his transition to Bitwig Studio, signaling an evolution in his production style. “Frame Shift” is influenced by the early 2010s beat scene, with Jade crediting Sunclef’s 2011 track “Droski” as a key inspiration. Speaking about the single, Jade shared, “I’ve been wanting to make music in that style but with a heavier bass/dance production to it for a long time… and a goal of mine is to make more melodically and harmonically driven boom-bappy bangers like this one.”

Fresh off a sold-out headline show at Denver’s Mission Ballroom, Jade Cicada has announced his ‘Break The Hold’ tour, set to span nine cities and include two rare festival appearances at Lightning in a Bottle and Electric Forest. The tour promises immersive audio-visual experiences, featuring Tenorless as the lead VJ and a dynamic supporting lineup including EPROM, Resonant Language, Cool Customer, Mr. Carmack, and Mad Zach.

The tour kicks off in Dallas, TX, on January 17, 2025, and wraps with festival appearances in May and June. Fans can expect Jade’s signature blend of genre-defying soundscapes, meticulous audio design, and visually stunning performances.
