6 Acts You Can’t Miss at Lightning in a Bottle 2022

Since 2006, the iconic Do LaB helped the west coast festival movement proliferate behind enigmatic curation and capturing festival goers imagination each time out with unparalleled production. Do LaB’s key note event, Lightning in a Bottle, remains a prized destination for fans and artists around the world to showcase their unique crafts within creative stage environments built for immersion and wonder.

For 2022, Lightning in a Bottle is returning to Buena Vista Lake in Southern California and is set to host a unique blend artists that represent every vertical – matching the hype of nearly any music event happening this Summer.

We broke down our 6 Can’t Miss artists at the 2022 event. Check them out below:

Kaytranada

Heralded as one of electronic music’s modern innovators in beat making, Kaytranada is easily one of the Can’t Miss artists at this year’s LIB. Beginning his project in 2010, the producer reserved his status as industry staple behind mixes, remixes and bootlegs, later becoming a commercial juggernaut. The Canadian star broke out behind his now classic album, 99.9%, and has furthered his status with collabs with the Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and Disclosure. In 2019, he released its follow-up, Bubba, for which he won two Grammy’s including Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Monolink

Monolink is set to make his triumphant return to LIB in 2022, with a new album and global notoriety in tow. The producer approaches electronic music with a “unique, expressive fashion.” Based in Berlin, Monolink is a live-act producer and songwriter – blending his vocals and storytelling within an electronic music environment. His performance comes amidst the Under Darkening Skies tour, which will span 14 countries throughout 2022.

Smoakland

Ready to rev their engines for their debut LIB performance, Smoakland arrives to The Stacks stage with as much hype as anyone on the lineup. The West Coast producers have become one of the hottest names in bass music in 2022, supporting tours for Liquid Stranger and Jantsen, while kicking off their own nationwide run, the Method to the Madness tour, with SuperAve. With the duo’s potential bubbling over the rim, any set from the Oakland duo is Can’t Miss and sure to enthrall all in attendance. Check out their latest mix, Speakerbox Thuggin’ V, below:

Ivy Lab

Highly sought-after London outfit, Ivy Lab, collided together in 2012 out of a shared enthusiasm for experimentation in the UK bass music scene. The duo has marked their territory where left field bass and halftime meet hip-hop—a neighborhood characterized by the coalescences of both Los Angeles and London.

The now scene staples, “Cake” and “Orange,” with Two Fingers, really launched Ivy Lab’s ever-growing loyal audience in North America. A handful of EP releases: Fidget, Teacup, Blonde, and Everythingmustchange, nailed in that the duo will continue to break the mold by doubling down on under-produced minimalistic bass. Most recently, the duo dropped their debut release on Deadbeats, Double Blind, which is their latest turn at imprinting upon modern electronic music.

Khiva

Evoking strong reactions with art calls for duality — being able to offer fans a connection through both light and dark. Since first arriving on the scene, Khiva has displayed the prowess to access both with her penchant for delivering underground-facing performances and music, as well as the star power to transcend genre norms on her way to the top.

LIB 2022 attendees will have not one but two opportunities to catch Khiva this weekend, as she’s set to play Saturday at the Thunder stage at 2:55-4:10 PM and 12:00-1:00 AM at The Stacks.

Of The Trees

Of The Trees is a producer and visual artist originally rooted in Maine, now residing in Denver, Colorado. He melds strong influences of hip hop, ambient, and dance music to create emotive soundscapes ranging from heavy deep bass anthems to jazzy piano arrangements and downtempo. With cosigners ranging from CloZee to Liquid Stranger, Of The Trees has solidified himself in the North American underground bass music scene as an innovative and dynamic producer.

Last Fall, he announced the birth of his new label, Memory Palace, and has been hitting a series of sold-out headline shows to debut his A/V live show.
