MP3 PREP: 5 Must See Female Acts Onboard The FriendShip 2024

As the festival season charges full steam ahead, the preparation for each event becomes a task in itself. Welcome to MP3 PREP, your ultimate guide to navigating the pulsating world of music festivals. Here’s what you need to know about The Friendship 2024 cruise and music festival.

In a refreshing and commendable move, The FriendShip Festival has skillfully created a lineup that showcases diversity and inclusivity, not only within sound, but artists themselves as well. This year, The FriendShip 2024 lineup showcases an array of talent, from Bob Moses, VTSS, Skrillex, Nitepunk, Mary Droppinz and Sun-El Musician. One thing that sets this festival apart from the rest is a conscious effort to defy the norm of booking a male-dominated lineup, as they shine a spotlight on the incredible female talent that exists. With fifteen women on this lineup, join us as we dive deep into five female acts you must see aboard The FriendShip 2024!

Dita Von Teese

The Queen of Burlesque, Dita Von Teese is back for another incredible “Shipteese” performance on The FriendShip this year. Her must-see show will be a beautiful combination of sensuality and femininity, as she graces the stage with carefully curated choreography. The atmosphere she creates with her performances is enchanting. From her vintage-inspired costumes to the incredible music selection, this set is one you don’t want to miss!

VTSS

Hailing from the streets of Poland, Martyna Maja, better known as VTSS, is set to bring a high energy techno set onboard the Norwegian Joy. Over the years, VTSS has been carefully carving out her own niche in the techno scene, seamlessly blending genres such as hardcore, EBM, and industrial techno. Recently, Maja dropped an infectious track, “Steady Pace” in collaboration with Boys Noize, who will also be gracing the stages of The FriendShip. This track has the perfect blend of bouncy bass, fast tempo, and captivating lyrics that define it as the ultimate party anthem that you’ll want to listen to before, during and long after the cruise has ended.

Nala

If you haven’t heard her name, Nala is without a doubt someone to add to your list of must-see sets this year. The Los Angeles based DJ and producer has seen an incredible rise in the last few years as she navigates her way through the house music scene. From launching her own label, Mi Domina, to performing at renowned festivals such as Coachella, Okeechobee, Ultra and Electric Forest, Nala has developed a reputation as an impeccable performer in the current field of house producers.

QRTR

As a master of many talents, QRTR is sure to bring a set to The FriendShip that is unlike any other. Her sound is best recognized as a blend of electronic styles that incorporate downtempo beats and a house-infused energy that always gets the crowd moving. QRTR’s music taste has been uniquely shaped by her previous film studies from earlier in her career. This background has not only inspired many of her music releases, but has also expanded her eclectic music taste and track selection to new heights. No matter where she goes or what stage she plays at, QRTR is sure to bring the vibes!

Mary Droppinz

Spunky DJ and producer Alyssa Johnson- better known under the moniker of Mary Droppinz, has been on the rise in the last few years and has no plan on stopping anytime soon. The Mary Droppinz project cannot be defined by one single genre, proving just how well the producer can bounce between sounds. Originally starting as a house artist, Johnson has seamlessly transitioned to a break-beat connoisseur, and even began to dip her toes into bass music. Fans can expect not just one, but two sets from Mary Droppinz- one during The FriendShip pre party with Flava D, and another once we set sail. There’s no telling what sound her FriendShip set will bring, but we’re sure it’ll rock the boat either way!
