MP3 PREP: Beyond Existence 2023

As the festival season charges full steam ahead, the preparation for each event becomes a task in itself. Welcome to MP3 PREP, your ultimate guide to navigating the pulsating world of music festivals. Here’s what you need to know about this year’s III Points Festival.

One of the South’s best-kept secrets is Beyond Existence — a festival built by a community of bass music-lovers who calls the “Live Music Capital of the World” — Austin, Texas — home.

For years, friends have gathered here to share and experience music, art, creative freedom, and expansion of consciousness in unique and unforgettable ways. With a fire lineup and a feast of other fun sights on the horizon, this year looks promising.

We’re now just over one weeks away and rearing to giddy up and go! But first, preparations are in order.

Here is everything you need to know to PREP for Beyond Existence 2023.

Venue

Beyond Existence will take place at Carson Creek Ranch (CCR), a 58-acre ranch tucked between the city of Austin and the Colorado River. CCR has previously hosted events such as Euphoria and Austin Psych Fest. This will be Beyond’s second year at this location.

Festival Goers will have the option to camp on-site, as camping is included in the price of the ticket. If camping isn’t your vibe, no worries — downtown Austin is less than 10 miles (or a 20-minute drive) away from the festival site. So, if you’d rather stay in an Airbnb than get further acquainted with nature, it’s completely feasible.

Once on site, festival goers will be treated to a kaleidoscopic dreamfield of color and sound. Live painters and fire performers are sure to wow during the golden hour and beyond.

Lineup

Beyond is known for the heavy-heavy. This is clear by the inclusion of Shlump, Tsuruda, and kLL sMTH on the lineup. Those who crave a little meditative feel with their heavy-heavy will enjoy Supertask, Mystic Grizzly, and Zen Selekta.

In addition to the wubs, Beyond also set out to “[integrate] a platter of more diverse sounds” this year. They did this by welcoming artists like Tripp St., Manic Focus, and Parkbreezy, who will add a pinch of groove and funk to the mix.

And of course, let’s not forget the undercard acts like Yoko, Rafeeki, and all the winners of Beyond’s DJ/producer competition — who will throw down just as hard as the headliners.

Takeovers

Festival goers will also get to experience three different takeovers, courtesy of Manifest Gang, Subciety, and Silent Motion.

Manifest Gang is the Florida-based collective and independent label headed up by Mystic Grizzly. Subciety is an underground bass music collective based in Denver and Austin. Silent Motion is a record label based out of Austin. With so many opportunities to experience new music, attendees can expect a real smorgasbord of sound.

Beyond Existence goes down November 3-5 at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, TX. Grab your tickets here, and follow Beyond Existence for updates.
