Mersiv — “YEAH BOI”

Mersiv surprised fans with a fiery new single, “YEAH BOI,” ahead of his Red Rocks show next month, and it’s the perfect track to bring in the 2024 festival season.

“YEAH BOI” is a lighthearted dubstep banger filled with heavy wubs and subtle, high-octane energy from start to finish. The track embraces the sillier side of bass music with a smile, encouraging fans to let loose and headbang until your head falls off. All things considered, it’s a bit more mellow than much of the heavy dubstep on the charts recently, but it’s equally as compelling.kas

Kasablanca, Lane 8 — “Remission”

Lane 8 and Kasablanca’s newest collaboration, “Remission” is a healthy mix of melodic house chops, subtle techno rhythms, and gorgeous synth leads — which come together to create a slightly nostalgic, summer twilight banger.

“Remission” is the kind of song that makes you want to call your oldest friend and tell them you love them, or drive off into the sunset, making a B-line for the nearest ocean view. Still, the emotional vocal melodies and synth passages make this track an equally compelling force on the 4:00 AM dancefloor. Wherever you’re listening to this one, it’s sure to make you feel something. And that’s what music is all about.

John Summit — “EAT THE BASS”

John Summit has been steadily releasing singles ahead of his upcoming debut album, but “EAT THE BASS” takes a different approach than his other recently released tracks like “Shiver” and “Hungover.” “EAT THE BASS” is a far cry from the melodic textures of Summit’s recent catalog, but if you’re looking for a late-night club banger, this one perfect.

Summit is no stranger to the deeper frequencies of tech house (“Legacy” is a great example), and “EAT THE BASS” proves that, despite his recent focus on melodic, stadium-house aesthetic, he still loves a classic, club-ready banger. If “EAT THE BASS” is any indication of the sound on his upcoming album, which also has features from dubstep and experimental bass superstars like Of The Trees (who was featured on MP3 MAG’s Print Edition Vol. II) and Tape B, we’re in for a treat, regardless of what kind of music you’re into.
